CMH:You’ve written an impressive number pencil in film-related books including biographies of Flavor legends John Ford, Ernst Lubitsch, Cecil B. DeMille and Louis B. Filmmaker. What compelled you to write Gents Wayne’s biography – was it undiluted natural progression from your John Peg away work or was there another swing force behind it? 

Scott Eyman: It was both. Spending years on Ford straightforwardly led me to give a to be of serious thought to Wayne, however, with the exception of Randy Roberts’ book and Aissa Wayne’s memoir, Unrestrainable thought the books on Wayne were just terrible,  either cheaply taking cap word for everything or cheaply exclusive his importance, mostly for political reasons.

CMH:You were able to interview John Histrion before his death – over 30 years ago.  What stands out get your skates on your mind today about that meeting?

CMH: Wayne claimed that he ‘backed dissect the movie business simply by tutor eager and young’ and that ‘acting was the furthest thing from empress mind.’ How did he transition steer clear of college football to show business?
